Who Shall I Become (at 78)

A winged one.
A rose.
I lighten. I open.
From deep inside I feel my being.
I dance like no one’s looking
and let the joy embody me.
Crone now, free now.
All of me present, now I am
fire and earth
as well as familiars, water and air.

Potentials uncurl inside me,
genes unfurl.
I reach to my reach
and find life’s dimensions
have stretched.
I reach to my reach and find
everything
can be transformed,
anything,
into the energy of light and love.

I sculpt myself,
surprise myself
To create healing
in the suffering world,
I remember who I am:
“the whole world pushed out”*
in a sacred web of light.
I lighten, I open.
A winged one,
a rose.
