When We Remember

When we remember
that we are nature,
we reach and sing
the music of our consciousness
across to elephant and kiskadee
and star beings everywhere.

When we really remember
that we are nature, rhythm
and melody and harmony
connect us.
Beneath our species
and underneath everything

that seems to separate us,
the music of common consciousness
streams and lets us parley.
In the pulse of familial vibration,
we are nature, singers all.
Every one, consultant in the cosmos.

When we remember
that we are nature,
it changes everything.
How we make decisions.
How we treat the land and the water.
How we care for each other.

When we remember,
we jam with the voices of our gifts
and the instruments of our paths.
We chorus with all consciousness.
Beneath our separate speakings,
we breathe a single music.
