When I Hold the Truth of Dying

photograph by Susa SilvermarieWhen I hold the truth of dying,
our common ground, in my hands,
it helps me be kind.
I just want to make more space,
not fight to change anything.
not transcend anything.
When I hold the truth of dying in my hands,
I just want to be present,
to tell each other:
Right now, it’s like this.
