The Whole Moment

Khumba,
When you looked at me
and you let me
rest my hand on your trunk,
I felt the whole moment.

Because you
were filling it all the way up
with your presence,
I lived inside
the whole moment.

The vast alert stillness
of you,
receptive of me,
changed me
inside the whole moment.

We touched
and the sensation
doubled us,
joined us and gave us rest
in the whole moment.

You brought us to
living reality
with no conceptual film.
Right there, loving
in the whole moment.

You opened the door
I walked out of prison
You took me to silence
in the widening rings
of the whole moment.
