The Relational Ride

…quantum theory invites us to see the physical world as a net of interactions. When we perceive our bodies as a collection of molecules constantly interacting with air, water, food, each other, and eventually everything in the cosmos …we see the true meaning of ourselves as a web of relationships…from Carolyn Lee Boyd post

My dreams are swimming
with turtles and sisters,
with all of earth, with people from stars.
No frontiers or borderlines,
no limits or edges or margins.

Even the chair I’m sitting on
is made of moving molecules.
What a ride, this life.
All that pain over nothing true.
Separation –- never was.

When I hold the turtle
she is beholding me,
we cannot be discrete.
A cosmos without boundaries
made of beings without periphery.

Thay and the poets and the physicsts knew,
Now I feel how it’s true,
the turtle and I, inter-being.
How could separation ever
have seemed to be so credible.
