The Answering World

Everything I look at
looks back at me.
I begin to feel the way the rain
interacts with me,
the way the turtles interact,
and the plumeria trees.
I start to sense the convergence,
how the rain enters me
and my beingness enters the rain.
Oh turtle, everything so big!
Oh plumeria, everything also so small.
Rain we are mundane
Rain we are divine.
As I answer the world,
the world answers
my being in it.
The ground responds to my walking.
From the ground, from the world,
I learn how
to relinquish, to belong.
