Still There Are the Stars Part 2
Earthlings whirling on a pale blue dot
in the hundred billion galaxies.
Why find our place, why feel it?
In order to take our place, perhaps.
Our tiny, crucial, human role.
Is it a storyteller task?
As we uncover the grandeur of the whole,
and teach ourselves
the slow and startling tale of life arising,
the fairytale yarn
of arising worlds and beings
that fall away to the next iteration –
may we let the splendiferous scope of it all
size us humans
into our fitting place at last,
a place of gratitude,
the teller’s place of praise.
