Singing Spillway

I’ve songs inside my throat
that never have been sung.
I’ve healing spells and magic chants
bursting forth in stellar wind.
Now before I die, it’s time
to let the music leap to air.

Through the chamber of our bodies
through elder bones, it surges now.
Ancestor songs from many lands
sail out of our bellowing souls.
Hurrahs from all of the peoples
orchestrate the chorus of earth.

Birds that were caged fly free,
with wings of song, unloosed.
Now nothing dams the singing spillway
of our holy dancing planet.
Songs that never have been sung
now quiver through the Milky Way.
