Loving with All your Sovereignty
In the terrain between
addiction to approval,
and trusting your own sovereignty,
the good life pours rewards
into your open hands.
May the ongoing balancing act
keep you far away
from fundamentalism, so you know
your longing for love,
for being seen,
is a true and beautiful sign
of creaturely interdependence.
Longing for light,
for our star’s gift
is an earthling’s essence.
We need it just as much
from one another.
I turn my curious gaze,
warming and supportive as sunlight,
to those whose path I cross this day.
