Just Fine to be Extra
Dolly Parton showed us,
and you know you have it too,
the Extra, the so-fine,
however you may hide it.
Now’s the time
to drag it out of the closet
find again that shine
from your childhood, or maybe
that once when you
felt your own magnificence.
The particular shimmer that belongs
to no other being but you.
It’s the only way
to be completely alive.
And how the world needs,
needs, needs
everyone’s
Extra.

Wonderful PBS documentary online I’m sure called “Dolly Parton: Here I Am.” So many things I didn’t know about her. Great tributes to Dolly from Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. I can’t wait to find the classic film “9 to 5” and watch again. It is so entertaining and feminist every time!
