Inside of Nature
English automatically “its”
any form other than our own,
separating
humans from non-humans,
separating
our consciousness
from other kinds of consciousness.
Our language objectifies
the other earthlings,
the slow stones, the living waters,
the essential insects,
the generous plants,
ripping our thinking
away from their embrace
Touch a rock, dare to listen.
Defy the learned categories.
Taste the nasturtium, thank his courage.
Honor the squirrel for her antics.
Seek a genderless way to relate.
Dear sacred lake I live beside,
your tender whispers lap the shore.
Come home again
to the earthling family you belong to.
Find your place inside of nature.
You have never been alone.
Whisper love back
to the cool water you bring to your lips.
Consciousness contains us all.

Wise woman.
Wonderful photo of you, dear Susa. May we all die to despair and rise again to joy this weekend, amidst the sweetness of all existing beings.
One of my favorites!
Beautiful!
