Inebriate with Nardo
Nardo, Nardo, you perfume
my evening living room.
Three long stems of your small white blooms
fill every molecule of air.
I sit alone and happy,
a squat white candle burning
in an alabaster holder,
a steady flame for the world.
The staffs of Nardo share a vase
with nine white calla lilies,
whose elegance of cup
shocks me with their beauty.
Green branches of eucalyptus
entwine with the smooth of the calla.
The arrangement that arranged itself
quenches and quenches my eyes and my spirit.
The heady scent is shifting me
into another dimension.
I ride the Nardo air
exhilarated by the gallop.
In this moment which has never been before
and will never come again —
how wealthy I am to be
inebriate with Nardo.
