Entrusting

I listen to
my body’s wantings
beneath the cultural prescriptions.
In a quiet heart I hear
the tiny tugs and squeaky leanings
that take me where
my truest needs are satisfied.

I trust my body
to feel what it feels,
to walk where it walks,
to find what it needs.
I trust my body to live this moment,
and this one now,
in fulsome earthy presence.

Effusive as
the robin’s song,
ebullient as the bear with paw in honey,
it’s the soft animal
of my miraculous assemblage that I entrust
to lavishly love
whatever it loves.
