Boundaries and Belonging
Heart cell converses with poet:
She wants to know about Boundaries:
Containers, I say, are the given.
My boundary makes the shape of me,
But mmm, I’m permeable.
Semi, they say, but really, I’m double-powered.
I invite in everything I need!
And every other thing,
I politely decline to admit.
She wants to know about Belonging:
From the first cell’s multiplication,
it’s the ecstatic high of union.
Each of us cells,
in continuous delicious ritual,
contribute every ounce of our artistry
and then make room
for those next on stage.
I love belonging to the heart.
I’m part of an earthling, inside of Gaia.
I adore being a step of the world-dance
on the starry stage of the Quantum Mother.
In delectable cooperation,
I dance my Belonging to the larger Heart.
Oh heart cell, let me apprehend it.
Please pry my human mind
out of its false ascendance.
So I can grasp
that the hologram heart,
of which you are a cell,
is what allows me to perceive
boundaries and belonging;
each so perfectly wonderful,
each so perfectly true.
For every cell everywhere,
it’s heart that sets the direction.
With every measure of the cosmic symphony,
it’s my heart, dear single cell of mine,
it’s my own beloved heart that assures
both boundaries and belonging.
