Borderless

The border where I end, and Earth begins,
felt definite, impermeable;
now it’s turned quite porous.
I used to feel how Earth spread out from me;
now I sense myself spread out from Earth.

Edges and limits feel far too simple
when life performs its inside-out.
Your cave of heart-wound hardness
becomes the mountain range of shining love
that rises as you age.

You make your mark upon the world,
though even more, it makes its marks on you.
A woman experiencing the universe
can slowly become
the universe experiencing the woman.
