All of it Luscious

If I can go anywhere,
I’ll need to keep track
of how to get home.
From the peak of the mountain
I see the shore where my body stands.
The lake’s all spread out and distant,
since I’m the tree at the top.

Now I swoop my molecules
down to the waves, whose view
is always its own loving self.
I’m rolling along,
all of it luscious,
my body calmly waiting.

So this, surprise,
is how it’s meant to be.
If I can enter the moment,
it can take me everywhere.
I can quieten, truly, to become
anything. I just need to practice
coming home again.

Susa, sometimes I feel like you are a prophet for days to come and ways to feel and think. “Quieten:” the dictionary gives us “calm,” “compose,” “soothe.” Getting still inside, from the inside. Love you.

Luscious is one of my favorite words.
I like all of this, especially “…whose view
is always its own loving self”
