A Path of Wild

Tiny world, precious world,
oh Earth, you’ve let me wander
among the trees and other beings
for a blink of beautiful years.
You’ve set my feet
dear larger self, dear teacher,
on a path of wild
love and disobedience.

Oh Gaia whom I am,
each day I come alive
by closely tracking all your wonders.
You teach me how to listen to green beings,
and how to stand with them.
Mercurial as your marvels,
I spiral astray
from all the straight and narrows.

I walk more slowly now,
see more clearly,
feel much more.
I shall continue to transgress
whatever limits kindness.
And to imitate your beautiful unruly.
Planethome,
you are the poem I love.
