Swirling Blue and Beautiful
In our tiny neighborhood called earth,
we all are nature beings.
Shifts in nature’s cycles
shape and change us each.
As we synchronize devices,
we can synchronize ourselves
with the planet’s seasons.
The tender crocus pushes through.
And as we stretch,
as the seasons show us how to change–
springing up takes discipline —
the larger human story blooms.
On this day of equal balance,
the sun lays down a path
across the early morning garden.
Let’s compost despair
and choose the rippling out,
why not, of optimism.
May the open face
of a fragile azure crocus
sing us awake to our task.
Like the light of the sun
on Spring Equinox morning,
may we shine
a path of radiance
all around our tiny neighborhood,
swirling blue and beautiful
among the dancing stars.
