Seeing Through Sorrow
I watch my friends
falter and leave.
Those vigorous ones
I knew in my youth.
Seeing through sorrow,
I honor his life.
Seeing through sorrow
I honor her life.
Seeing through sorrow,
I honor my life.
Everything I do
is for the last time.
Everything is once.
In the only moment.
Every step is once.
Then done.
I stretch
to encompass
the long bridge
of grieving.
