Monsoon in Bali
Water sheets from the sky
Trees sway ecstatic
The grass is getting drunk.
Farmers throw up their hands in glee
The drenched air resounds
with the pound of rain.
From a neighboring compound,
a gamelon
gongs along with thunder
and brings the downpour
to a rocking climax.
Mama Gaia dances. Dances!

I lived in Sri Lanka for four years and absolutely loved monsoon season! Wonderful imagery of the tress dancing and the music of the rain. Brings back beautiful memories.
