Magpie Reposing

On the back of a wooly white sheep
standing in an Irish green field,
for a brimming moment
a magpie rests,
alert in her trim tuxedo.
So still the sheep.
And on its placid back,
magpie’s chat all silent.
Their deep drink of peace,
it stops your thinking.
It fetches forth
to the air all around,
a shimmering restoration.
A pulse of healing
that lifts up the world.
