Little Death

photography by Susa SilvermarieMy body opens,
inexorable
as a rose.
My patience is easy,
knowing with the rose
that unfolding must come.

My body unbolts,
petals unfurling
spreading, swelling.
My body sings wide
and the streaming flies
through every cell to toes.

What a revelation
to find that life,
(my good guess says death as well)
tremors through the body,
juddering delight
in a ride ecstatic.
