Gaia
I was standing at the kitchen counter
when the house heaved
like a ship on high waves.
One second to the next,
my brain lurched,
I grabbed the countertop,
my stomach fluttered.
The hanging fixture overhead swayed
from one side of the kitchen to the other.
I ran outside and saw my neighbors
had done the same,
each of us open-mouthed, trembly.
Not just my house
falling down.
The being called Earth
stirring,
stretching,
waking.
Gaia,
we creatures
from your womb
have felt you move.
My body
got the message.
That from which I rise,
has always
been alive.

Wow! She ain’t messin’ around.
Oh Susa…you shine so brightly. I read your written words, they penetrate my being and I resonate to their song.

We just had a small quake here too. Indeed our mother is alive!
Well felt and expressed Susa ! The earth She rocks!
