Forest Gate
When we take the Forest Gate,
we let nature show the way
to play beyond the surface
of the little world we know.
The call of the wind and the wild
to Gypsy-rove the cosmos
draws us out of smallness
into quantum vastness.
If we’re stuck at the gate,
twins Spirit and Science
give a helpful push, and swoosh,
we get through, get through.
Whoosh! we’re going through,
through the dimensional gate.
Humans are evolving, fast,
at last, to adventures in awareness.
We explore the original net,
the holographic, jeweled one
that has always connected
everyone in every when.
Though we can pass as solo beings,
the portal’s made for communal use,
swinging wide to invite
our whole species’ derring-do.
We all are bold explorers,
moving through the Forest Gate
on odysseys of consciousness,
to realize and claim our size.
(The Forest Gate is the portal from comfort to adventure in Tolkien’s The Hobbit.)

“Odysseys of consciousness” – I love it! Consciousness is as close as our thoughts, and yes, “the call of the wind and the wild to Gypsy-rove” is our birthright.
Love this poem, Susa, and to hear your voice is such a blessing on this Fall morning, here – 1500 feet above sea level in the wilderness of the Adirondack Park is a great way to start my day.
Love to you, my dear, dear friend!
Annie! From 5000 above the sea in Ajijic, love back atcha!
