For Departures and Arrivals
“You children of space, you restless in rest, you shall not be trapped nor tamed. Your house shall not be an anchor, but a mast.” from Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet.
I am a child of space
now come home.
For departures and arrivals,
my open arms of gratitude
shall never close.
My dreaming keeps
expanding. I harvest
an ever-larger wilderness of being.
I am a child of space.
My path seeks it, creates it.
I sail in the house of my form,
casting out the cold concept
of foreign,
Wherever
I find myself,
I am warmed by home
