Ajijic Poem

AJIJIC by Guadalupe Araceli Rios Sánchez

Ajijic,
enchanted pueblo
Little cobblestoned corner
Magical is your air
Your art, your lake
and all of your people.

Magical Ajijic
Enamored sunsets
Crickets singing.
Heart overflowing,

Here I feel love, peace.
Beloved place
Magical little town
Sheltered by hills
Your lake azure.

I like the words “lago azulado.” “Azulado” sounds like “Blued” or “emblued,” a color as a verb.
