Kiskadee Contentment
The Kiskadee
seems completely confident
in the sun’s love.
I too choose to believe
in benevolence.
The Kiskadee behaves as if
the whole story
of our far-fetched existence
makes every breath largesse.
Should the breaths I’m granted
today turn out to be
the ending,
may contentment
sing my tale to a close
like a Kiskadee.
